I recently replaced the business phone systems in the company I own to accommodate the wants of my staff. I would like I may say that it absolutely was to accommodate the requirements of our customers, but sadly, that isn’t the case. You see, our recent phone system had several more extensions than we tend to had lines for. It had been built with the belief that inter-office communications would be utilized more than incoming and outgoing calls. Since my company deals primarily with internet business and does not do abundant in the manner of transactions over the phone, the system I put in place in the late 90′s had served us well till terribly recently. As these days, I have had vendors who had historically reached me by phone sending me e-mails. They were complaining that it’s typically impossible to urge through to me. I looked into the matter and this is what I found… Most of my workers were spending a great deal of your time talking on the phone. They weren’t talking to vendors, customers, service suppliers or other business entities. Instead, they were utilizing the phone for personal reasons.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not the sort of boss who thinks it’s never acceptable to speak on the phone. I understand that in the workday, things are inevitably certain to come back up that need an employees’ attention. We have a tendency to’ve all been there. Maybe a child is sick or the car is during the look needing repairs. I understand that these items typically need time spent on the phone. Judging from the traffic on my lines and therefore the astronomical phone bills I used to be receiving, but, this was way beyond what I suppose any employer would take into account acceptable.
Thus, I decided to switch the previous phone system. The new system contains a line for each extension, together with mine, thus that vendors or anyone else will be in a position to reach me at any time. Since the new phone system also offers increased functionality, I had an additional feature programmed in.
Now, whenever somebody makes an outgoing call, they need to dial in their own code thus that each the number they call and the times spent are recorded. These records are matched to the phone bill and all workers are needed to mark the non-business related calls they make each month. Since the calls bear their code, they can not say it wasn’t them who created the call. Of course, they need to pay money for these calls. I’ve got noticed that phone times (and my phone bills) have decreased substantially.

Despite the technology not being especially new, people have been slow to take advantage of the benefits that it offers. You’ll need more than just the technology to host a teleseminar though, you’ll also need something of value to broadcast. If you’re a brilliant speaker then you can of course simply broadcast yourself talking about whatever it is that you specialize in. However, for the most part, a better option is to conduct an interview with an expert or fellow marketer, as most people find it preferable to listen to a conversation than a ‘lecture’.
Of course, you can’t just host a teleseminar with anyone and expect it to be a success. You will need to find someone with whom you have some chemistry with, and with whom you can easily hold a long conversation. Awkwardness and silence in a conversation is bad at any time, but it is a whole lot worse when you have lots of other people listening in. Therefore, people who you have worked with before would make the best guests. Failing that, at least speak to someone a few times on the phone before going ahead with a live broadcast.
Making sure that all of your equipment is good working order, and that you know how to operate it all, before starting a teleseminar is another important consideration. Spend some time finding the optimal settings so that there will be no echoes or distortions broadcast, and know what volume setting is best – if it is too quiet or too loud then listeners won’t stick around for long.
One of the goals that you should have when running a teleseminar is to get your listeners interested and make them stay interested throughout the call. The best way to do this, aside from offering high quality content on the call, is to keep them engaged by having them ask questions. This draws listeners into the show and keeps them paying attention in case their question is read out next. Another way to keep your listeners interested is to have a special bonus or deal at the end of the call as a reward for staying on the line. If you interview an expert, an example of a good bonus to offer the listeners would be a discount for one of the expert’s products.
